A Black State of Mind

If only I wasn't being sexualized.

Though I will continue to express for I am who I am.

Hoping one day I'll see the day where a man will be able to see beyond the flesh.

But, oh, what a shallow society we live in.

Cus I can't blame them.

A woman's body is like gold.

Needing to possess because we know its value.

Needing power for owning something so sacred.

Owning a temple.

And wanting everything around it so remain one in the same.

But we don't own anything.

Regardless of how much you claim to have invested.

I am mine.

And will continue to be.
